Establish prescription information sharing platform

2017 is the first year witnessed the prescription outflow and the separation of drugs from medical services. Recently, more than 20 provinces and cities nationwide have introduced relevant policies, requiring medical institutions to issue a prescription according to the common name of drugs and proactively provide the prescription to the patients so that the patients can make their own choice to purchase the drugs in medical institutions or retail pharmacies and medical institutions shall not restrict the outpatients from purchasing drugs in retail pharmacies with prescription.

Prescription Information Sharing Platform, jointly constructed by hospitals, the health and family planning authorities, the food and drug regulatory authorities and social insurance as well as pharmacies, is an informatization platform that realizes the interconnection and real-time sharing of prescription information of medical institutions, medical insurance settlement information and drug retail sales information.

On November 15, the YFZ of the BAHEAL Intelligent Technology subordinate to BAHEAL Pharmaceutical Group and the Wuzhou of Guangxi jointly launched the construction of prescription information sharing system in Wuzhou. More than 20 secondary hospitals or above and more than 200 pharmacies jointly connected to the prescription information sharing platform, and Wuzhou became the first city in China to comprehensively realize the prescription information sharing.

The information sharing platform connects the HIS information system of hospitals and outside pharmacies so that the patients can also purchase the prescription drugs in the pharmacies outside of hospitals. Since the pilot project was launched in this May, more than 20 thousand people in Wuzhou has enjoyed the convenience. A total of more than 30 thousand prescriptions have been issued, accounting for 11% of the outpatient prescriptions in pilot hospitals. Experts said that this pilot project not only conforms to the national policies and helps to promote the separation of drugs from medical services but also realizes standardized management so that relevant authorities can realize supervision by multiple parties and establish the tracing mechanism of prescription authenticity. Especially, it is convenient for patients as they can independently select the drug delivery methods.

Fu Mingzhong, the executive chairman of the China Association of Pharmaceutical Commerce, said that the Wuzhou model can become a benchmark and a model for the pilot program of the policies of separating drugs from medical services and the medical reform and can be used as a sample to promote across the country.

Gather the strengthen of global Chinese physicians

Currently, there are 3.19 million practicing physicians and assistant physicians in China, of which only more than half have bachelor degree or above, and their abilities differ a lot in clinical level.
