The conference aims at promoting the communication and cooperation between overseas Chinese doctors, constantly improving the international status and influence of Chinese doctors, boosting the development of health care industry in China to safeguard the health of the Chinese people, providing adequate and reliable solutions to cross-border medical treatment, and bring in excellent doctors from all over the world to meet people's growing medical demand. During August 20 to 21, local time in San Francisco, the World Association of Chinese Doctors Annual Conference 2016 & Society of Chinese American Physician Entrepreneurs Annual Conference themed "Connecting the World, Improving Health Jointly" was held at the Frances C. Arillaga Alumin Center of Stanford University in Silicon Valley. At the conference, the Bodhi Healthcare Group (Bodhi Healthcare) announced that it would sign a long-term strategic cooperation agreement with the World Association of Chinese Doctors to accelerate the implementation of cross-border medical treatment by providing overseas Chinese doctors with services to facilitate their demands in giving lectures and practicing medicine in China, as well as practicing tele-medicine and cross-border medical treatment.

People attended the meeting included Luo Linquan, Chinese Consul-General in San Francisco, Zhang Yanling, President of the World Association of Chinese Doctors, Qian Xiang,Academician of Peking Union Medical College Hospital Lang Jinghe,  Chairman of Bodhi Healthcare Group,  Fu Gang, as well as more than 300 members of branches of the World Association of Chinese Doctors from home and abroad, representatives of the Medical Groups, members of the Society of Practicing Physicians from the United States and Canada, and representatives of domestic and foreign hospitals.

The National Health Assembly of China was held during August 19 to 20, Beijing Time. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, China's President, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended the meeting. Xi noted that basic medical health service should remain to be public welfare. By continuously improving the system, expanding the services, and enhancing the quality, basic medical health can provide people with fair, accessible, and systematic services including disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, health promotion, etc. Xi also stressed that persistent efforts should be made to improve the quality of medical health services so that all the people can enjoy it fairly. Li Keqiang,Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, demanded to increase the investment in cutting edge researches of the medical and health care industry, and eliminate institutional obstacles, so as to generate more new industries, new commercial activities, and new models.

The World Association of Chinese Doctors Annual Conference 2016 & Society of Chinese American Physician Entrepreneurs Annual Conference held at the same time with the National Health Assembly focused on cross-border medical treatment, intelligent medical treatment, and medical talents working in advanced fields. The conference aimed at providing overseas Chinese doctors with a comprehensive service platform using the most advanced information technology. Such a platform will enable the renowned overseas physicians to introduce in China the most advanced health concepts and medical techniques, so as to improve the quality of medical treatment in China and accelerate the implementation of cross-border medical practices by shortening the time spent on such practices.

Zhang Yanling, President of the World Association of Chinese Doctors and the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, said that the Chinese government attaches great importance to the health and medical industry, and that China has entered a period with accelerated health care reform, which will provide great chances and strategic opportunities to overseas Chinese physicians. In his speech "Entering into an Intelligent Era", Fu Gang, Chairman of the Bodhi Health Group, introduced that the growing demand on overseas medical visits urges the cross-border medical industry to prefect itself as soon as possible.
