On July 20, the "Inaugural Conference of the Country Doctor Training Project and the First Training Meeting" was held at People's Hospital of Qingtongxia, Ningxia Province, by the Country Doctor Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association (CMDA). About 300 participates including Zhu Hongming, Deputy Director-General of the Grassroots Department of National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), Guo Jingping, Deputy Director of National Medical Examination Center (NMEC), Chen Kai, Head of Division of Rural Health of Grassroots Health Department of NHFPC, Yang Min, Executive Vice President of CMDA, Cai Zhongjun, President of the Country Doctor Branch of CMDA and Lin Zhenkun, chief operating officer of Bodhi Healthcare Group attended the event along with country doctor representatives and representatives from various provincial or municipal NHFPC and medical training centers.

Speeches were given by the guests themed on "How to Enhance the Development of the Country Doctor Team through Country Doctor Training Centers". Zhu Hongming, Deputy Director-General of the Grassroots Department of NHFPC pointed out that "country doctors are the guarantee of the basic medical care and healthcare services. Training for country doctors will help to improve their abilities in diagnosis and treatment so that they can join in the team of rural general practitioner assistants in a faster pace. The contracting system of family doctors should be introduced to carry out hierarchical medical treatment and better serve local people".

CMDA Executive Vice President Yang Min addressed the conference with the theme "Enhance the Development of the Country Doctor Team and Consolidate the Foundation of the Medicare System", in which he confirmed the important role of country doctors in implementing the "Healthy China" national strategy and deepening medical reform policies. Meanwhile, CMDA Country Doctor Branch President Cai Zhongjun highlighted that the Country Doctor Branch would establish the "Project" experts guiding committee, the "Project" experts commission and various local training centers to build homes for China's country doctors, where they would be enabled to realize their dream to be a professional doctor.

In the inaugural conference, the CMDA Country Doctor Branch granted the license to the first batch of "country doctor training centers" and the expert commission was also established. In addition, 200 Bodhi Healthcare Intelligent Doctor Workstations were donated to improve efficiency and convenience for country doctors' work, help them realize self-values, improve local medical conditions and step up development of rural healthcare.

Lin Zhenkun, chief operating officer of Bodhi Healthcare Group, expressed that he hoped that platforms such as Intelligent Doctor Workstations would improve country doctors' abilities in diagnosis, treatment and patient management. Thanks to information standardization and unification based on the large amount of data on cases and patients stored in the cloud platform of Bodhi Healthcare, country doctors would have access to electronic files and related electronic cases wherever and whenever they like. All this would not only allow them to constantly study to enhance their professional knowledge and strengthen their relations with patients, but also to regularly provide professional medical knowledge and recommendations for people and improve their medical management expertise in rural areas.
